My name is Melissa Alba, a 23-year-old entrepreneur and the founder of LASHED MIAMI. Nearly four years ago, I made a life-changing decision to pursue lashing, and it has been an incredible journey ever since.

In 2019, while studying dentistry at Nova Southeastern University, I took a leap of faith and enrolled in a lash course. Initially, lashing was a side hustle, but it quickly became my passion. Within six months of starting, my business was thriving, thanks to effective social media marketing and word-of-mouth recommendations.

​

As my business grew, I faced a tough decision: continue with my demanding studies or fully commit to my lash business. I chose the latter, taking a break from university to see where this path could lead. During this time, I was fortunate to meet a fellow lash entrepreneur, @lashviews, whose support and friendship were invaluable.

In my second year, I began offering lash courses, sharing my expertise and helping others enter this fulfilling industry. I decided not to return to school, fully dedicating myself to LASHED MIAMI and my passion for teaching.

Managing a growing business alone was challenging, leading to burnout. I prioritized my well-being, adopting a healthier diet and incorporating yoga into my routine. This balance boosted my energy and overall performance, proving the importance of self-care.

Entering the third year of LASHED MIAMI, I relocated to Downtown Miami, grateful for my clients' unwavering support. Becoming a lash artist was the best decision I ever made, offering discipline, hard work, and the freedom to control my destiny.
